Ryan Mason leaves Tottenham Hotspur for a new challenge at West Bromwich Albion.

"We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Mason as the men's first team coach," West Brom said on Thursday. According to the club, Mason's contract lasts for three years.

Mason, born in 1991, was a former Tottenham youth player. He spent his time on loan at Yeovil Town, Doncaster, Millwall, Laurent and Swindon Town. During the 2014-15 season, he joined the Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League for the first time. He had three goals and four assists in 37 official matches. It was a successful season until his debut for the English national team.

Mason scored two goals in 29 games for Tottenham in the 2015-16 season. Having struggled in the main competition, Mason moved to Hull City in August 2016. However, due to severe head injury, he quickly retired and took the leadership path.

After returning to his old team, Tottenham began his leadership career as a coach for the youth team. He also served as an acting coach twice. In 13 games, he posted six wins, one draw and six losses.

Until recently, Mason assisted coach Enze Postecoglou and contributed to winning the UEFA Europa League (UEL).

West Brom said, "Mason is highly regarded as a coach, he has served various duties in Tottenham's first team and youth teams and has served as a temporary coach twice. He played under Harry Redknapp and Mauricio Pochettino, especially Pochettino, who has had a great influence on Mason to this day," adding, "Mason retired early due to a serious head injury, but immediately started coaching Tottenham's youth team and grew quickly."

"After Jose Mourinho's departure in April 2021, he became the youngest manager in PL history to lead the league game at the age of 29, winning four of the last six games of that season and also taking the helm in the League Cup final against Manchester City," he continued.

Finally, he added, "At the end of that year, Antonio Conte promoted Mason to the first-team coach, and Tottenham secured a place in the Champions League. Since then, at the end of the 2022/23 season, Mason has been the interim coach again, and in the last two seasons, he has been the head coach of Postecoglou, achieving the achievement of winning the European tournament together."

Nigel Gibbs and Sam Pulley joined West Brom with Mason. Gibbs will assist Mason as head coach. Pooley will play the role of coach and performance director.

West Brom Chairman Shirlin Patel said, "We are thrilled to welcome Mason, Gibbs and Pulley to West Brom. We have gone through an in-depth and extensive process of coaching appointments, among which Ryan has made a very strong impression."

He went on to say, "He is a person with the ability to implement the highest level in terms of preparation and player development, and he is the right person to further establish elite standards in the first team and the entire club program," adding, "His experience as a player and coach with world-renowned coaches and his background as a youth team will play an important role in building our club's philosophy and identity at the club level."

Sports director Andrew Nester said, "Mason has risen to the highest level as a player, and since then he has developed his own tactical model with top figures such as Pochettino and FA technical director John McDermott." "Since his retirement, he has honed his leadership skills and tactical skills with promising players in Tottenham's youth team, and has also built his career in the first team, which has world-class coaches and players."

Nester said, "Ryan has the style to complement and develop the club's existing game model. His approach based on game tactics, individual and team-level growth, data, and analysis fits perfectly with our club. This is a critical moment for West Brom to set a new foundation for future success." 먹튀검증

"The recruitment of Mason, Gibbs and Pulley further strengthens the club's efforts to improve its sports structure. This began last year with the reinforcement of the scouting and operations sectors, and now extends to the performance, sports science and analysis sectors. All of this aims to build an integrated system for the club's sustainable competitiveness," he added.

West Brom ranked ninth in the English Championship (minor league) this season with 15 wins, 19 draws, 12 losses and 64 points. It failed to win promotion for four consecutive seasons.
